Professional Experience
What
path has your career taken since your residency? Include military
service, private practice, academic career, teaching and research
accomplishments.
I
have been at HCMC since residency. Initially I was
running the EEG laboratory, In conjunction with Dr. Milton Ettinger,
developed the MN Regional Sleep Disorders Center in 1978, Since then, I have
been concentrating on education and research in the field of sleep medicine. My
current status is Professor, Dept. of Neurology, U of MN Medical school, and Chief, Department of Neurology, HCMC.
Residency Recollections
We

Include interactions among fellow residents and teaching staff.
I
will never forget Dr. Baker’s incredible teaching ability. I have fond memories
of the camaraderie with the other residents.
Looking
back, would you do it again? What would you change?
I
certainly would do it again, and I cannot think of anything I would change.

Share
your thoughts regarding the changes in medicine since your residency. In
your opinion, is Neurology positioned well for the future?
With
the incredible advances being made in the neurosciences in general, neurology
may be better positioned than many other specialties.
